Hi, I’m Solo. I currently live in the southern part of the USA. I enjoy reading/listening to stories, snacking, and learning new languages. In particular, I enjoy reading young adult/adult books, middle-grade fiction, Reddit stories, stories from Choices, fairy tale stories, and paranormal stories. As for snacks, I like anything spicy.
About this blog
This blog started as a way to show future job prospects my skills as a front-end web developer and as an English major, but it has become more of a way for me to cope with being an English Language Teacher, tutor, and college student. I have an associate degree in software engineering (2017) and a bachelor’s degree in English with a certification in Teach English as a Second Language (2019). Currently, I am working on my MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching) and intend on staying within my current field.
While working as a teacher, I volunteer to tutor adult English Language Learners. A few other volunteers and I often meet up with these students and their children on Mondays for two hours. At other times, I go to their homes and teach them English. By doing this, I learn more about my students, their culture, and their home language.
